Frequently Asked Questions

How close is the snow?

Less than 30 minutes to top of Lake Mountain Alpine Resort from the gate of Maryton Park.  You’ll need to buy a resort entry to go and encourage visitors to get online before travelling to book early for school holidays or weekends as they can sell out.

When is the best time to visit the snow?

While planning your visit in Winter, we are fortunate to be located in the closest town to Lake Mountain.  It has also become most popular to visit for snow play, especially for young families.

Is fire wood supplied?

Yes, absolutely.  In winter, each cottage has their own wood fire that is set for guests arrival ready to light.  Additional wood is left in front of your cottage and if you need any extra during your stay, please let us know.

Are there fish in our lake?

Yes, absolutely. It is stocked with trout and guests are welcome to bring a rod and come try your luck.  It is open all year round!  Nearby Steavenson River is also a popular fly fishing spot, a short 5 min walk down the lane.

What facilities do you provide?

The self contained 2 bedroom cottages have full kitchen with microwave, cooktop and fridge/freezer.  The laundry includes a washing machine, dryer, iron and board.  There is also your own BBQ’s on the balcony of Lavender and Daisy Cottage.

Where can we go for a walk?

Around the gardens of the property, guests are welcome to enjoy.  A little closer to Marysville, one of the most popular walks in town is from Gallopi Park (Visitor Information Centre) that heads to Steavenson Falls.  There are many special hikes around the Marysville area that are suitable for beginners and those who enjoy the outdoors.

Is it suitable for families, couples or groups?

Absolutely. The two bedroom cottages were built for young families and we also can supply a port a cot and high chair.  Lakeview studio is a perfect stay for couples looking for that special getaway to stay.

For a limited time, Lake House is available and has been popular for small gatherings and special birthday celebrations.

Are the cottages quiet places to stay?

Guests’ reviews regularly comment on how tranquil and relaxing it is staying and enjoy a reset. The sound of the king parrots and kookaburras singing outside your windows and the stream from the water are in the background.  There is plenty of open space to lay out a picnic rug on a sunny afternoon to lay back with your favourite book.

Pets – are they allowed?

Maryton Park is situated on a farm. We have animals around (and beautiful birdlife) and as much as we love pets we don’t allow them to stay.
